DESCRIPTION AND SPECIFICATIONS

Moton 1-Way Coilovers for R35 Nissan GT-R

Moton’s 1-Way Coilovers for R35 Nissan GT-R fit the R35 GT-R with non-inverted monotube dampers that adjust for rebound and ride height and arrive with springs. The R35 GT-R pairs a twin-turbo VR38DETT V6 with a rear transaxle and ATTESA all-wheel drive, which makes it a heavy car that still has to stop and turn hard on track. Compression is left to MOTON’s fixed valving, so the one choice at the car is how quickly each corner of the R35 GT-R settles after a bump. For an R35 GT-R that sees mostly road miles and a few track days a year, it is the right amount of adjustment.

Design and Performance

  • Rebound sets how quickly each damper extends after compressing, which decides how the R35 GT-R settles after crests and kerbs. The 1-Way gives one adjuster per corner for exactly that and leaves compression to MOTON’s valving, the right amount of adjustment for a road car with occasional track days. For compression control on the R35 GT-R, step up to the Moton 2-Way Clubsport Coilovers or the Moton 3-Way Motorsport Coilovers.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Which Nissan GT-R models do the Moton 1-Way Coilovers for R35 fit? MOTON lists the Moton 1-Way Coilovers for R35 for the Nissan GT-R (R35, 2007 onward). Each 1-Way set is built to order in the Netherlands for that fitment, so confirm the exact model, year and any previous suspension changes with us before ordering.
  • How does the 1-Way kit compare with the other MOTON kits for the R35 GT-R? The 1-Way adjusts rebound only and leaves compression to MOTON valving, which makes it the simplest kit to set up on the R35 GT-R. The 2-Way Clubsport adds compression adjustment on a remote reservoir. The 3-Way Motorsport splits compression into separate low-speed and high-speed circuits. Every MOTON kit for the R35 GT-R shares threaded ride height, non-inverted monotube construction and springs in the box.
  • What happens to the factory DampTronic system? The MOTON dampers are adjusted by hand and have no electronic valves, so DampTronic no longer has dampers to operate. MOTON advises cancelling it with a third-party kit or coding it out, and reports very few complaints with KW cancellation kits. We carry the KW ESC Module for the R35 GT-R, which KW lists from the 2009 model year on.
  • What comes in the box? Four non-inverted monotube coilovers with springs, each with a single rebound adjuster on the damper body, built to order for the R35 GT-R. Wheel spacers, any electronic damper cancellation and the alignment are not included, and the kit ships without spring preload set.
  • How difficult is installation on the R35 GT-R? It is a job for a qualified shop with a lift and a calibrated torque wrench. The kit arrives with no spring preload, so preload is set before the R35 GT-R is lowered and ride height is measured afterwards. Overtightening the spring platform can deform the damper body, and an alignment should follow.

About Moton

MOTON Suspension Technology was founded in the Netherlands in 1999, and by June 2000 around 30 percent of the cars at the 24 Hours of Le Mans ran its dampers. MOTON has since won in the FIA GT and FIA Sportscar championships, the ETCC and WTCC, Grand-Am and World Challenge. AST Suspension acquired the brand in 2011, and every MOTON damper is now developed, tested and built by the AST x MOTON team in the Netherlands, part of the Roosen Industries group since 2016.

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only.
