DESCRIPTION AND SPECIFICATIONS

GiroDisc 380mm Front Replacement Rings for R35 Nissan GT-R (2007-2011)

GiroDisc’s 380mm Front Replacement Rings for R35 Nissan GT-R cars built from 2007 to 2011 are the service part for the GiroDisc A1-249 front rotor, renewing the iron while the aluminum hats stay on the hubs. Only the early CBA cars run a 380mm front disc, so these rings are specific to them. Each pair is cast by GiroDisc in the USA and machined in Bellingham, Washington, with curved internal vanes, and it arrives with new mounting hardware so the float is rebuilt as new. For an early GT-R that still sees track days, this is the part that keeps a two-piece front axle cheaper to run than a set of one-piece discs.

Fitment and Installation

  • These rings fit only the GiroDisc 380mm front rotor for 2007 to 2011 cars. They mount to GiroDisc hats alone, not to the factory hats or to hats from another maker. The rings are handed left and right because of their curved vanes, and GiroDisc publishes a ring assembly guide that covers the swap on the existing hats.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Which GT-R do the GiroDisc 380mm Front Replacement Rings fit? The GiroDisc 380mm Front Replacement Rings fit the GiroDisc A1-249 front rotor on 2007 to 2011 CBA Nissan GT-R models, the only R35 years with a 380mm front disc. They bolt to the existing GiroDisc hats. Cars from 2012 on use the 390mm front rotor and need GiroDisc D1-232 rings instead.
  • Will these rings fit the original Nissan front rotor hats? No. GiroDisc designs its replacement rings for GiroDisc hats only and states that they do not fit hats from other brands, including the hats on cars that came with two-piece rotors from the factory. An early GT-R still on its original front rotors needs the complete GiroDisc 380mm front rotor first.
  • What comes in the box with the GiroDisc 380mm front rings? Two rings, one left and one right, and a full set of replacement mounting hardware. The aluminum hats are the only parts carried over from the existing GiroDisc rotors, so the drive pin hardware is renewed with the iron and the floating mount is rebuilt the way GiroDisc assembles a new rotor.
  • How do I know when the front rings are worn out? GiroDisc marks the minimum thickness on the center hat and on the outer edge of each ring, and the rings are replaced when they reach that figure. Because GiroDisc treats rotors as consumable racing parts, an early GT-R used on track should have its rings checked for wear, fatigue and damage at regular intervals.
  • Do replacement rings need bedding in like new rotors? Yes. GiroDisc recommends bedding every time a new disc or friction material is fitted. The rings are bedded with light to moderate stops that bring the surface to about 700 to 800 F, then allowed to cool without dragging the brakes, and fresh pads are bedded afterwards to the instructions from their maker.

About GiroDisc

GiroDisc designs, manufactures, and sells 2-piece, fully floating brake rotors for a wide range of performance vehicles. Every major component, including the hats, rotor rings, and drive pins, is manufactured in-house at their facility in Bellingham, Washington, from domestically sourced materials. GiroDisc rotors use a proprietary high-carbon iron ring formulated for superior metallurgy and thermal performance, paired with reusable machined-aluminum hats that reduce the long-term cost of maintaining a high-performance brake system. The 2-piece floating design sheds unsprung and rotating mass while remaining street-friendly, delivering race-proven braking for track and street use alike.

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only.
