GiroDisc Rear Rotors for R35 Nissan GT-R
GiroDisc’s Rear Rotors for R35 Nissan GT-R models fit every year of the car, from the first CBA chassis to the final 2025 builds, because GiroDisc makes a single 380mm rear rotor for the whole R35 run. GiroDisc puts each rotor at about 18.8 lb, a saving in unsprung and rotating mass that shows up as quicker suspension response. The ring is GiroDisc’s own iron, poured in the USA and machined start to finish in Bellingham, Washington, then floated on 10 cadmium-plated drive pins around a hat of US-sourced 6061-T6 aluminum. With either GiroDisc front rotor, it completes a four-corner set for an owner who would rather refine the factory brakes than replace them.
Design and Performance
- As a direct replacement for the factory rear disc, it bolts on and works with the original rear calipers with no modification, keeping the front-to-rear bias and ABS behavior Nissan engineered. Ten drive pins carry the braking load while letting the ring float, and anti-noise spring washers remove the cold rattle floating rotors can make. When the iron wears, only the ring is replaced.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Do the GiroDisc Rear Rotors for R35 fit every GT-R year? Yes. The GiroDisc Rear Rotors for R35 fit every model year of the Nissan GT-R, from the early CBA cars through the final 2025 production. Only the front rotors change with the year: 2007 to 2011 cars take the 380mm front rotor A1-249, and 2012 and later cars take the 390mm front rotor A1-232.
- How much do the GiroDisc rear rotors weigh? GiroDisc gives the rear rotor weight as approximately 18.8 lb per rotor. The saving comes from replacing a solid iron center section with a 6061-T6 aluminum hat, and because the rotors spin and sit below the springs, the lighter assembly reduces both rotating and unsprung mass at the rear axle.
- Will the rear rotors work with the factory calipers? Yes. GiroDisc designs the rear rotor as a direct replacement for the factory disc, so it bolts to the car and works with the original rear calipers and pads with no modifications. Factory brake bias and ABS efficiency are kept, unlike with a big brake kit.
- Do the rear rotors need to be bedded in? Yes. GiroDisc bedding starts with the rotors, preferably on previously used pads, using light to moderate stops that bring the surface to about 700 to 800 F, then a cool down to near ambient without dragging the brakes. New pads are then bedded to their maker instructions.
- What happens when the rings of the Rear Rotors for R35 wear out? Only the rings are replaced. GiroDisc D2-232 rear replacement rings come in pairs with new hardware and bolt to the existing hats of the Rear Rotors for R35. The minimum thickness is marked on the hat and on the outer edge of the ring, and the rings are changed once they reach it.
About GiroDisc
GiroDisc designs, manufactures, and sells 2-piece, fully floating brake rotors for a wide range of performance vehicles. Every major component, including the hats, rotor rings, and drive pins, is manufactured in-house at their facility in Bellingham, Washington, from domestically sourced materials. GiroDisc rotors use a proprietary high-carbon iron ring formulated for superior metallurgy and thermal performance, paired with reusable machined-aluminum hats that reduce the long-term cost of maintaining a high-performance brake system. The 2-piece floating design sheds unsprung and rotating mass while remaining street-friendly, delivering race-proven braking for track and street use alike.
Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only.
