Kline Innovation Exhaust System for DBA-R35 Nissan GT-R Nismo
As fast as a supercar and as proficient as a hypercar, the GTR can eclipse many legendary supercar lineages. Its 3.8L twin-turbo V6, an engineering wonder, possesses extensive potential beyond the factory-provided 475hp. Unsurprisingly, Kline was driven to engineer the ultimate GTR exhaust system. Their goals encompassed adaptability in design and customization of cross sections to match perfectly with the anticipated power, be it for a 1400hp titan or a 650hp daily commuter. Kline offers superior materials and expertise to transform your vision into reality.
Innovation
With the 3.8L V6 engine situated at the GTR’s front, crafting an exhaust with elevated sound and performance standards might seem like an uncomplicated task. However, Kline’s relentless pursuit of perfection led them to elevate their GTR exhaust system to a whole new level. This was achieved through a harmonious blend of elegant design, relentless material selection, and meticulous acoustic and fluid dynamic modeling.
In setting a benchmark, Kline pioneered the world’s first GTR exhaust made entirely from Inconel 625, a Formula One-grade material. Inconel is incredibly lightweight, and their GTR system is among the lightest resonated 89mm systems worldwide. Inconel’s durability is outstanding, with high thermal and chemical stability, and unlike titanium systems, it does not suffer from fatigue and cracking over time.
Sound
The replacement of the quad 400-cell catalysts with either racing pipes or 100cpsi catalysts not only enhances and enriches the sound but also boosts torque and power response. Replacing the resonated Y-pipe with a free-flow variant further accentuates the sound while shedding weight off the exhaust. By expanding and simplifying the rear silencer section, they have consolidated the volume of the 3-silencer factory setup into a more efficient twin rear silencer design, further reducing the weight. The rear silencers, volumetrically tuned to eliminate bass drone at cruising speeds, provide a rich, aggressive tone at high RPMs. Constructed from thin sidewall Inconel, with high latent resonant frequency, the sound is accentuated in the treble frequencies, rendering a higher-pitched, more aggressive sound when desired. The Inconel-induced sound is genuinely thrilling!
Performance
Racing Version delivers 48hp gain at 6500rpm and 73nm gain at 3800rpm.
Stainless Steel
304-grade stainless steel, preferred in exhaust manufacturing, offers durability, thermal stability, cost-effectiveness, and ease of fabrication. But when applied to high-performance exhaust components, its hefty weight and limited tensile strength can become problematic, and the necessity for thicker walls could potentially dampen the exhaust’s sound.
Inconel
Conversely, Inconel 625, appreciated for its toughness and heat resistance, is a frequent choice for constructing crucial parts such as high-performance jet engine exhaust turbine blades. It’s the chosen material for Formula One exhaust systems and prestigious hypercar projects like the McLaren P1 and Aston Martin 177. Despite Inconel’s capacity to endure temperatures above 1000°C and its emphasis on a lightweight design, it comes with distinct challenges due to intricate machinability and specialized welding procedures.
Carbon Fiber
Carbon fiber reinforced polymer, boasting an extraordinarily high tensile strength-to-weight ratio, outclasses all metals. Components with high tensile strength and extreme lightweight can be molded to nearly any shape. Kline exclusively employs aerospace and Formula 1 grade pre-preg carbon fiber, cured in an autoclave at high pressure and temperature, to provide the lightest and strongest carbon fiber for the most demanding conditions.
Specifications
Cross Section:
Downpipes: Dual 76mm OD
Y-Pipe: Dual 76mm OD into Single 89mm OD (available in either a racing version, or with 100cpsi HJS catalyst)
Rear Section: Single 89mm OD into Dual 76mm OD Y Section / Quad 63.5mm OD Tail Sections
These dimensions of their 89mm system, which is tailored to cater to a power range of 750-1000hp
The chosen dimensions are designed to preserve the cross-sectional area and gas velocity, ensuring the maximum efficiency of gas transition
It’s essential to highlight that while some pictures might depict optional y-pipes and carbon fiber tips, these components do not come as standard inclusions with the exhaust system package

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only.
