DESCRIPTION AND SPECIFICATIONS

HKS VCAM SYSTEM STEP 1 without Valcon RB for R32 / R33 / R34 Nissan Skyline GT-R

The newly launched HKS V-CAM system without Valcon type is the favored option for RB26. Allows for high revving and minimum modification to get the most out of the system.

Components

  • Special V-CAM shaft
  • Variable valve timing unit (vane type controller for high torque, pulley with nickel plating)
  • Intake side special cylinder head cover (HKS original casting product, no paint, includes special logo plate)
  • V-CAM sensor harness (F-CON V Pro 3.4 connected terminal)
  • Oil control valve (electromagnetic)
  • Cam angle sensor (highly accurate type)
  • Oil lines (between the hydraulic take-out section of the engine side and the cylinder head cover)
  • Other parts

Specifications

  • Opening Degree – 248º
  • Valve Lift – 8.6mm
  • Valve Timing – 90-120º

Necessary Parts

  • Variable Valve Timing Control Unit – F-CON V Pro ver. 3.4 or VALCON type RB26
  • CAM Shaft (EX) – 256º or 264º
  • Valve Spring – Stock
  • Allowable Rotating Speed – 8000RPM
  • Cylinder Head Modification – No
  • Piston – Stock
  • Oil Pump – Recommends HKS enhanced parts
  • Engine Oil – Recommends HKS SUPER TURBO RACING 15W50 or HKS Racing Pro 10W50
  • Timing Belt – Inspect the wear or tension each drive 10,000km. Adjust them if necessary.
  • Other – If the viscosity is not high enough, the hydraulic pressure may not be sufficient to achieve the intended valve timing. When the water temperature is 60 degrees or lower, the valve timing cannot be set to an advanced angle.

Applications

  • 1989-1994 Nissan Skyline GT-R – R32
  • 1995-1998 Nissan Skyline GT-R – R33
  • 1999-2002 Nissan Skyline GT-R – R34

Notes

  • The stock piston is designed to have a precise fit; therefore, surface polishing on the cylinder or using a thin gasket may reduce the clearance between the valve and the piston and make the components incompatible.

About HKS

In October 1973, two ambitious and spirited engineers had the ambition to engineer high performance engines and components that were unavailable or not developed by major Original Equipment manufacturers.

Hiroyuki Hasegawa, formerly from Yamaha Motor Company and his partner Mr.Kitagawa astutely obtained an investment from Sigma Automotive Co., Ltd–the origin of the moniker “HKS” – to start modifying fuel engine motor in a barn situated at Mount Fuji’s base located in Japan.

One year on, Mr. Hasegawa created and constructed the very first turbocharger for regular cars and has never seen his success diminish since then.

HKS made history by creating a series of unprecedented aftermarket performance products, including the first electronic turbo timer and boost controller on the market. Additionally, they were also in production for piggy-back fuel computers as well as refined fueling management tools – resulting in HKS becoming an innovator within Japan’s automotive sector.

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only.
