For drivers who just need “more power & more torque”. HKS has designed a series of capacity upgrade kits to suit each engines characteristics. Increased displacement offers more torque at lower engine speeds and by using the highest quality materials, the durability required for high levels of tuning is achieved. Nickel coated pistons which have strong anti-knocking properties combined with fully counterweighted crankshafts and high strength connecting rods (rods optional in some kits) combine to extract maximum performance from the turbocharger and increase torque.

Piston Kit

Piston Weight : 324kg
Made of highly heat-resistant & durable A2618 alloy.
Machining to reduce excess thickness parts to achieve ultra lightweight.
Adapting truss structure for improved structural rigidity.
Double-layer molybdenum coating to reduce friction and improve initial fit-in.
Using D22 piston pin instead of D21 to increase flexural rigidity yet achieving the same weight by making the pin itself thinner & shorter in length.
The shortened piston pin makes pin boss lighter.

Crankshaft : 77.7mm Stroke

A thinner, harder, wear resistant & high quality full counter crankshaft rated for 1200hp.
Material is high-end racing grade nitriding steel / EN40B (BS722M24).
The same ion plasma nitriding treatment used in high quality racing cranks is applied for 50 hours to increase the surface strength & toughness required for high cycle performance crankshafts.
HKS’ craftsmen’s uncompromising approach to design led to create a unique shape w/ high balance ratio & lower moment of inertia.
Strongest crank with the ultimate material and ion plasma treatment.

Connecting Rods

H-Beam machined by nicked chromium steel (SNCM)
Specially designed to fit thinner & shorter lightweight D22 pins.
Increase fatigue strength by WPC treatment.
