HKS offers a Head Gasket designed to enhance the performance of the R35 GT-R, addressing the limitations of the factory bore sealing proof stress found in the stock head gasket. By replacing the factory gasket with the HKS Head Gasket, the GT800 Package can achieve higher performance levels. This HKS Head Gasket also includes an Exhaust Manifold Gasket and is recommended for use with the GT800 Package to ensure proper engine upgrades.

Enhanced Sealing and Durability

HKS has enhanced bore seal proof stress by increasing the stopper height from 0.10mm to 0.15mm, while narrowing the width to maintain high proof stress with the factory Head Bolt axial tension. The bead plate angle was optimized to improve seal pressure at the oil and coolant contact surfaces without compromising bore seal integrity. Unlike the factory gasket, which only coats the bead area, HKS fully coats the gasket surface, improving the rigid connection between the cylinder head and block during installation. Additionally, the Exhaust Manifold Gasket is upgraded with a 4-layer bead plate, compared to the factory’s 3-layer design, providing improved seal durability under high exhaust pressure conditions.

Optimized Bore Stopper Design

HKS separates the bore stopper and bead, positioning the stopper to concentrate tightening force around the bore and the bead around the stopper. This design increases bore stopper load, which is not achievable with the factory combined type, while preventing deformation of the cylinder head and cylinder by placing the stopper within the hard bead plate.
