Power Producing VR38 Intake Manifold

• In contrast to many aftermarket GTR intake manifolds that exhibit gains primarily at the top of the power band and a decline towards the bottom, the Alpha GT-R Cast Aluminum Intake Manifold Plenums from AMS offer comprehensive performance. These plenums set themselves apart from the leading cast aluminum GTR intake manifold in the market by delivering not only higher horsepower and torque, but also maintaining this enhanced performance throughout the entire power band. As soon as your turbos spool up, the Alpha GTR intake manifold begins generating increased power and torque. Importantly, this improved performance does not come at the expense of response or power delivery across the curve.

Larger, Perfectly Molded Cast Aluminum Plenums

• Drawing from their Championship-winning Carbon Fiber Intake Plenums, AMS recognizes the vital role of the plenum in optimizing the performance of an intake manifold. In the case of the GT-R, two plenums are employed, one for each bank. It is not only important to size them correctly, but their design is also crucial in achieving optimal performance. The plenums are shaped in a manner that ensures even distribution of charged air among the precisely machined CNC aluminum velocity stacks leading into the runners. These lightweight cast aluminum plenums are skillfully molded and tapered to effectively channel the charged air, minimizing turbulence and enhancing the delivery of air to the engine. By maintaining a balanced airflow and sustaining maximum velocity and pressure, the GT-R benefits from increased horsepower output.

The Difference Is In The Details

• To ensure optimal airflow from the throttle body to the cylinder heads, AMS engineers meticulously match each manifold to its upper and lower running section. This is achieved by implementing tight tolerances where the sections adjoin. However, the attention to detail doesn’t stop there. To achieve perfect alignment of the upper and lower ports, dowel locating pins are installed, eliminating any steps or protrusions that could disrupt airflow and create turbulence commonly found in other aftermarket GTR intake manifolds. This precise engineering ensures smooth and efficient air flow throughout the intake system.

• In their pursuit of providing an intake manifold with exceptional strength and reliability, AMS collaborated with an industry expert. To ensure its durability, the finalized design underwent a rigorous cycle testing process in a high heat environment, simulating over 20 years of operation by the average GT-R owner, with pressures ranging from 0 to 50psi. Furthermore, a burst test was conducted, subjecting the test manifold to over 150psi. These stringent tests set the AMS intake manifold apart from others in the market, demonstrating its unparalleled strength and resilience.

Third Fuel Rail Engineered To Support Incredible Power

• For GT-Rs with exceptionally high power levels, the Alpha Performance intake manifold offers provisions for an additional fuel rail installation, allowing sufficient fuel supply for VR engines capable of producing over 2000+ horsepower. The strategic placement of fuel injectors plays a crucial role in optimizing fuel atomization and efficiency by enhancing the spray angle. AMS’ engineers meticulously incorporated these principles when designing the third rail setup. This option provides flexibility for customers who may want to upgrade their standard two rail Alpha cast aluminum manifold to a three rail system in the future.

• If you’ve outgrown the limitations of the stock GT-R throttle bodies, especially if your car is producing over 800HP, it’s likely they are becoming a bottleneck. AMS offers the largest throttle bodies available for the R35 GT-R, specifically designed to complement this intake manifold.

• Custom color anodizing can add as much as 4 weeks to your build time
• While AMS believes this product is either CARB EO exemption applicable, or complies with the EPA’s Anti-Tampering Policy, they have not completed the required testing and administrative process at this time.
