Power Producing VR38 Intake Manifold

• Similar to AMS’ Carbon Fiber Plenums, the Alpha GT-R Cast Aluminum Intake Manifold Plenums offer comprehensive performance, distinguishing them from most aftermarket GTR Intake Manifolds. While many alternative options tend to deliver gains primarily in the upper power range while sacrificing performance at the bottom end, the Alpha GT-R Cast Aluminum Intake Manifold Plenums provide a balanced performance across the entire power band. In comparison to the leading cast aluminum GTR intake manifold available in the market, AMS’ offering not only generates greater horsepower and torque but does so consistently throughout the power band. Right from the moment your turbos start spooling up, the Alpha GTR intake manifold begins to generate additional power and torque. Remarkably, this increased performance does not compromise responsiveness or the power delivery curve.

Larger, Perfectly Molded Cast Aluminum Plenums

• Drawing inspiration from their championship-winning Carbon Fiber Intake Plenums, AMS understands the crucial role of proper plenum function in optimizing the performance of any intake manifold. In the case of the GT-R, there are two plenums, one for each bank. It is not only essential to size them correctly for the appropriate volume but also to shape them in a manner that facilitates even distribution of charged air among the precisely machined CNC aluminum velocity stacks leading into the runners. Both plenums, crafted from lightweight cast aluminum, are meticulously molded and tapered to effectively channel the charged air. This design minimizes turbulence and expedites the delivery of charged air to the engine. By maintaining a balanced airflow and sustaining maximum velocity and pressure when required, your GT-R experiences the added benefit of increased horsepower output.

The Difference Is In The Details

• To ensure optimal airflow from the throttle body to the cylinder heads, each manifold is meticulously paired with its corresponding upper and lower running sections. AMS engineers implemented strict tolerances for the adjoining upper and lower sections, leaving no room for error. However, they went beyond that to achieve perfect alignment between the upper and lower ports. Dowel locating pins were installed to eliminate any irregularities or protrusions that might introduce unwanted turbulence, a feature often absent in other aftermarket GTR intake manifolds.

Rigorously Tested

• AMS sought to provide an intake manifold that would exhibit exceptional durability and reliability. To achieve this, they collaborated with a seasoned specialist in the field. The finalized design underwent rigorous cycle testing, enduring pressures ranging from 0 to 50psi in a high-temperature environment. This testing was aimed at simulating the equivalent of over 20 years of usage by the typical GT-R owner. Finally, a burst test was conducted, subjecting the test manifold to pressures exceeding 150psi. These demanding tests set a precedent, as no other GTR intake manifold available in the market has undergone such arduous trials.

Third Fuel Rail Engineered To Support Incredible Power

• To accommodate exceedingly high-powered GT-Rs, the manifold provides provisions for installation of an extra Alpha fuel rail. This addition ensures an ample fuel supply for VR engines capable of generating over 2000+ horsepower. The positioning of fuel injectors plays a crucial role, as optimizing the injector’s spray angle enhances fuel atomization and efficiency. When designing our third rail setup, AMS’ engineers incorporated all these considerations. This option is available for customers who may consider transitioning from the standard two rail Alpha cast aluminum manifold to a three rail system in the future.

• While AMS believes this product is either CARB EO exemption applicable, or complies with the EPA’s Anti-Tampering Policy, they have not completed the required testing and administrative process at this time. This product is not available to purchase for emissions-controlled vehicles located within the state of California, or available to ship to California addresses, without a completed AMS Race Waiver form. International users outside of the United States should act in accordance with their local laws and regulations.
