GiroDisc 380mm Front Rotors for R35 Nissan GT-R (2007-2011)
GiroDisc’s 380mm Front Rotors for R35 Nissan GT-R cars built from 2007 to 2011 are made for the early CBA chassis, which ran a 380mm front disc until Nissan moved to 390mm for 2012. Each rotor joins a 6061-T6 aluminum hat to a curved-vane iron ring through 12 cadmium-plated alloy steel drive pins, and the ring floats on them, growing with heat and centering itself between the pads. For an owner who wants the factory calipers and ABS left as Nissan set them up, GiroDisc, founded in 2003 to build exactly this kind of rotor, offers the most direct front brake upgrade the CBA car allows.
Design and Performance
- The rotor keeps the factory 380mm diameter, so the stock calipers and pads carry over and brake bias is unchanged. Curved internal vanes pump air from the center of the disc out to the rim, and the slotted face wipes the pads clean. An anti-noise spring washer on each drive pin keeps the assembly quiet when cold. A car on a big brake kit, or any 2012-on car, needs a different disc.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Do the GiroDisc 380mm Front Rotors for R35 fit a 2012 or newer GT-R? No. The GiroDisc 380mm Front Rotors for R35 are made for the 2007 to 2011 CBA cars, which use a 380mm front disc. From 2012 the GT-R moved to a 390mm front rotor, and GiroDisc builds a separate part, A1-232, for those cars. The GiroDisc rear rotor, A2-232, fits every R35 year.
- Do GiroDisc rotors work with the factory GT-R calipers and pads? Yes. GiroDisc builds the rotor as a direct replacement for the original disc, so it bolts to the hub and works with the factory calipers and pads with no modifications. Pads with squeal tabs go on the inboard face, or lose the tabs, so they cannot touch the hat.
- Do floating rotors rattle on a street-driven GT-R? No. Each drive pin carries an anti-noise spring washer on the ring side, which lets the iron grow with heat but stops the cold rattle floating rotors were once known for. The float also lets the ring center itself between the pads.
- How are new GiroDisc rotors bedded in? GiroDisc beds the rotors first, ideally with previously used pads, using light to moderate stops that bring the disc surface to about 700 to 800 F, then a full cool down without dragging the brakes. New pads are then bedded to the instructions from their maker.
- What happens when the rings of the 380mm front rotors wear out? Only the iron rings are replaced. GiroDisc sells D1-249 front replacement rings in pairs with new hardware, and they bolt to the existing hats of the 380mm Front Rotors for R35. The minimum thickness is marked on the hat and the outer edge of the ring, and the rings are changed once they reach it.
About GiroDisc
GiroDisc designs, manufactures, and sells 2-piece, fully floating brake rotors for a wide range of performance vehicles. Every major component, including the hats, rotor rings, and drive pins, is manufactured in-house at their facility in Bellingham, Washington, from domestically sourced materials. GiroDisc rotors use a proprietary high-carbon iron ring formulated for superior metallurgy and thermal performance, paired with reusable machined-aluminum hats that reduce the long-term cost of maintaining a high-performance brake system. The 2-piece floating design sheds unsprung and rotating mass while remaining street-friendly, delivering race-proven braking for track and street use alike.
Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only.
