GiroDisc 390mm Front Rotors for R35 Nissan GT-R (2012-2025)
GiroDisc’s 390mm Front Rotors for R35 Nissan GT-R cars from 2012 onward match the larger front disc Nissan fitted from that year, keeping the exact diameter so the factory calipers and pads stay in service. Each rotor floats a curved-vane iron ring on 12 cadmium-plated drive pins around a 6061-T6 aluminum hat. The hats are drilled for either M12 or M14 wheel studs. For the owner of a late GT-R who wants a cooler-running front axle without the cost and rebalanced bias of a big brake kit, GiroDisc’s Bellingham-built rotor is the considered choice.
Bolt-On and Go
- No machining and no adapters are involved: the rotors bolt to the hub in place of the factory 390mm discs and the original calipers go straight back on. The ring’s curved vanes pump air from the hub out through the rim, and an anti-noise spring washer on each drive pin lets the iron grow with heat without rattling when cold. A 2007 to 2011 car, on 380mm front discs, needs the 380mm version instead.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Which GT-R years do the GiroDisc 390mm Front Rotors for R35 fit? The GiroDisc 390mm Front Rotors for R35 fit 2012 and later Nissan GT-R models that left the factory with 390mm front rotors. The 2007 to 2011 CBA cars use a smaller 380mm front disc and need the GiroDisc 380mm front rotor, part A1-249. The GiroDisc rear rotor, A2-232, is the same part on every R35.
- Will these rotors work with M14 wheel studs? Yes. The GiroDisc 390mm front rotor hats are drilled for either M12 or M14 wheel studs, so the same rotor suits a GT-R on its original studs and one that has been converted to M14 studs, with no machining of the hat.
- Do GiroDisc rotors change the brake bias or the ABS? No. GiroDisc keeps the factory diameter and bolts the rotor to the original calipers and pads, so the brake bias Nissan designed and the way the ABS works stay the same. That is the main difference from a big brake kit, which changes caliper and rotor size and with it the balance of the car.
- Are the GiroDisc front rotors quiet enough for daily driving? Yes. GiroDisc mounts an anti-noise spring washer on the ring side of every drive pin. The washer allows the iron to expand with heat but stops the cold rattle associated with older floating rotors, so the GT-R stays quiet in town while the ring still self centers between the pads when hot.
- Can the rings of the 390mm Front Rotors for R35 be replaced on their own? Yes. When the iron rings reach the minimum thickness marked on the hat and the ring edge, GiroDisc D1-232 replacement rings bolt to the existing hats. They are sold in pairs with new mounting hardware and are designed for GiroDisc hats only, not for factory two-piece hats or hats from other brands.
About GiroDisc
GiroDisc designs, manufactures, and sells 2-piece, fully floating brake rotors for a wide range of performance vehicles. Every major component, including the hats, rotor rings, and drive pins, is manufactured in-house at their facility in Bellingham, Washington, from domestically sourced materials. GiroDisc rotors use a proprietary high-carbon iron ring formulated for superior metallurgy and thermal performance, paired with reusable machined-aluminum hats that reduce the long-term cost of maintaining a high-performance brake system. The 2-piece floating design sheds unsprung and rotating mass while remaining street-friendly, delivering race-proven braking for track and street use alike.
Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only.
