The ultra-lightweight, high-pressure forged aluminum cylinder uses next-generation film treatment and Kashima coating. The special treatment of impregnating molybdenum realizes amazing lubricity of the cylinder itself. It is equipped with significant friction reduction and durability that cannot be compared with conventional hard alumite, and enables basic performance such as linearity, smoothness, and traction ability at a high level.
Aragosta are particular about the processing accuracy of the cylinder and are able to execute surface roughness of 0.2 micron and 2/10000 mm for both aluminum and steel cylinders. In addition, an advanced honing treatment is performed to increase the surface accuracy and roundness inside the cylinder to the specified values. It is extremely rare for a damper manufacturer to perform processing at this precision engine on all of their cylinders.
The steel cylinder / outer case is coated with cationic electrodeposition coating, which is considered to be the best in terms of rust prevention, impact resistance, and durability. It reliably electrodeposits to every corner of the thread for maximum coverage and increased lifespan.
All Aragostas are equipped as standard with Rana springs, which embodies the ideal of a series-wound spring. In addition to high quality and high durability, the linear characteristics contribute to maximizing the damper performance.
Supporting Aragosta’s outstanding performance are damper pistons and needles that can control fine damping characteristics from extremely low speeds; covering a range from comfort to sports, dramatically improves traction performance. In addition, the external damping force adjustment mechanism gives a clear characteristic change to the 20-step adjustment range with a smooth and direct click feel, and corresponds to any setting.
The inverted cartridge cylinder uses precision shot peening (WPC processing), which is the best technology for modifying metal surfaces. In cartridge cylinders with high sway resistance, the wear coefficient has been reduced and the oil film retention in the sway part has been significantly improved. It is a manifestation of manufacturing that puts the highest priority on performance to spend time and money on parts that are not visible.
