The owner of this Red Katana 2012 Nissan GT-R always dreamed to have a Skyline GT-R. In the beginning he would say, “The performance of the GT-R versus the cost is hard to beat. I just wanted to add a little extra power to stand out from the a stock GT-R”. What started out with minor power upgrades, redesigned interior, plus Zele aero parts quickly turned into a full blown build. Switzer was the natural choice to to be able to double the power in comparison to stock with the Switzer R1K-X package. With additional power, the drive train need to be beefed up to handle the extra power. All said and done, the GT-R was driven down the Buschur Racing DSM/EVO shootout at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, OH to eventually run a crazy 8.973 down the quarter mile at 163.43 MPH. While this isn’t the first GT-R to break into the 8 second 1/4 mile, it is the first with a 3.8 L engine and possible the quickest GT-R over 4,000 lbs. The look on the race official’s face when he hands the owner of this GT-R his time slip is truly priceless, check out the video below to see it for yourself.
